Sainsbury's Aquathon Team

Sainsbury's Charity Aquathon

Colleagues from Sainsbury’s Preston took part in a charity aquathon to raise money for their store charity of the year, SPACE.

The aquathon took place up in the Lake District which involved a 3 mile outdoor swim in Derwent Lake followed by an 11 mile run alongside Ullswater.

Michael Peacock, aged 24 who is the fresh foods team leader and Ben Hughes, 24, who is a customer service captain, both from Sainsbury’s Preston, completed this aquathon in less than 3.5 hours raising over £250 for the Space charity, the multi-sensory centre.  Michael said; “It was a tough challenge but a great experience for a worthy cause”.

Sainsbury’s have SPACE as there nominated charity of the year and they continually find new ways of raising money to help them achieve their mission.
